I know I've written about this person before, but I can't help but share her latest entry. She is an amazing person.

I don't know how, but I've managed to catch a cold. I feel crappy and disappointed that I missed a special evening with Michelle. One of my favorite authors, Jen Lancaster, is signing books in Huntington Beach. I really wanted to meet her. Hopefully Michelle is able to get a book signed for me...
If you haven't read one of her books, I highly suggest it. It's pretty funny.

On another note, we had a great time at the Doheny Blues Festival. Brian Setzer sounds BETTER in concert than on a CD. The next day, I couldn't figure out why my stomach muscles hurt. Um, from dancing. Apparently (1) I haven't danced in a long time and (2) I'm seriously out of shape. Damn...
Why include a picture of the back of a random person's head might you ask? Because it's the only picture I was able to take of Brian Setzer.

I did something very stupid. I volunteered to put together a slideshow for Logan's kindergarten graduation. I have no idea what I'm doing, so keep your fingers crossed that it comes out okay.

I am enrolled in Candice Stringham's portrait class. Number of portraits taken = zero. I suck.

3 weeks of school left. 'Nuff said.

Enjoy your long Memorial Weekend!
Honestly. This week is going to be insane! This is the beginning of my to-do list for this week:
1. Teach. Duh, it's my job, but I still have to do it. Including prepping my kids for a test, attending a department meeting, and receiving my official lay-off notice!
2. Take care of the kids. I know. It's also my job. Including getting some homework in.
3. Keep up with my portraiture class and complete 2 assignments this week.
4. Have Martha, Tim & Michelle over Monday & Tuesday. I'm SO looking forward to this, but I definitely will need to adjust my routine. Martha may have to be my model for #3.
5. Work on Logan's kindergarten scrapbook. Which may or may not include a scrapbooking session at the school on Thursday night.
6. Drive the kids to Desi's dad's house Friday night.
7. Go to the Brian Setzer concert on Saturday (I've been looking forward to this since this may be the only fun we get to have all summer!)
8. Oops...Desi's birthday is also Tuesday, so I may have to make a cake, darnit!
So those are the reasons I may not be around for a while.

Since I can't leave without a picture, here's one from Saturday as we celebrated many birthdays!
Enjoy the week!
I just bought this book! It's been out for a while, but I couldn't get it used. I finally found a new copy from a discounted seller. It is the coolest book. It has memorabilia in pockets throughout the book, photos from movies, personal information, etc. Everything AUDREY! I love it! As soon as I finish To Kill a Mockingbird (re-read...I have a bad memory and I can NEVER remember stories!), I'm going to cuddle up with this book! For my portrait class, I have to find photos that inspire me. I will definitely find some in this book!
Yeah for me!
Enjoy!
One of the benefits of living close to a park is that the ice cream trucks frequently circle our neighborhood. Because our neighborhood has an echo, the boys can hear the music way before the truck becomes visible. The week before this, the boys sat on the corner for about 1/2 an hour, listening to the music in the distance but never ACTUALLY seeing the truck. They finally gave up. I took these about a week ago when the boys were enjoying the result of their patience.
Enjoy!
